Charisma Carpenter is Doomed in Psychosis Poster

Shock Till You Drop has your exclusive first look at the one-sheet and trailer for Psychosis, writer-director Reg Traviss' film which went into production at the beginning of the year under another title: Vivid.

Star Charisma Carpenter (Buffy the Vampire Slayer) shares the screen with Ricci Harnett and Sean Chapman (Hellraiser). And yes, that's The Darkness frontman Justin Hawkins you see making an appearance.

Carpenter plays Susan, a writer hoping for a fresh start after a nervous breakdown. She relocates with her new husband to a beautiful English mansion. But once there she begins seeing visions of a horrible massacre that happened 15 years earlier. Desperate to prove she isn't losing her mind, Susan must uncover the secrets behind the massacre or risk becoming a victim herself.

Psychosis arrives soon from Imagination Worldwide, Red Sparrow and Kingsway Films. Learn more about the film in our detailed preview here!

Legend Of The Seeker Nabs Charisma Carpenter For Premiere

Set your DVRs to find Legend of the Seeker the weekend of November 7th, because you’re not going to want to miss the season premiere. You’ll have to find it yourself as local times vary; the price of a syndicated show. And if a new season isn’t enough, how about Charisma Carpenter?

The Buffy the Vampire Slayer and Angel alum will be appearing as a guest-star on the second season premiere, according to a press release. And she’ll be sporting the leather fetish-gear that all Mord’Sith wear.

Speaking of Mord’Sith, remember Cara, the Mord’Sith who went with Richard into the future and reluctantly joined forces with him to save Kahlan and Zedd in the present. She, along with her real-life counterpart Tabrett Bethell, has been upgraded to a series regular with the second season.

If the character arc follows the books at all (SPOILER ALERT!), she will become a fierce and loyal ally to Richard. But I see it as more trouble for Richard. Now he’ll have a seriously gorgeous distraction between him and Kahlan. But at least he’ll have a Mord’Sith on his side, though I’m not sure how quickly she will come to fight alongside him, if she does at all in this version.

As for Charisma Carpenter, she’ll be playing the role of the Mord’Sith Triana, who comes to challenge Cara’s authority. Remember that Cara was the leader of the band of Mord’Sith in the giant confrontation in that season finale. What’s that? You don’t really remember the season finale?

That’s okay, because if you don’t remember it or even if you didn’t see it, the first season finale will be airing just before the new second season premiere in a two-hour event!

With Charisma Carpenter sliding into the tight leather of the Mord’Sith, and word already having come out that Star Trek: Enterprise hottie Jolene Blalock is joining Legend later on this season in a recurring role as a Dark Sister, the question presents itself: Which other sexy sci-fi and fantasy vixens would you like to see in tight leather and plunging necklines on Legend of the Seeker?

Posters and Trailer for Charisma Carpenter’s “Psychosis”

Check out the poster for PSYCHOSIS featuring Charisma Carpenter, that ShockTillYouDrop.com got their hands on.

Psychosis also stars Ricci Harnett and Ricci Harnett, and is directed by Reg Traviss.

Psychosis Synopsis: In 1992 a group of young Anarchists braved the snow covered wilderness to set up camp against the construction of a motorway by-pass. A terrible fate awaited them. 15 years later Susan, a successful horror novelist and sensitive soul relocates from her native California to the rural English countryside in search of peace. The newly-wed finds it in an idyllic, remote Hamlet. It is here that Susan’s living nightmare unfolds.

Buffy’s Charisma Carpenter guests on ‘Legend of the Seeker’

Fans of Buffy the Vampire Slayer and Angel, rejoice! Charisma Carpenter will be appearing in the season 2 premiere (airing Nov. 7) of the syndicated fantasy series Legend of the Seeker, exec-produced by Sam Raimi.

In this snap from the premiere, a kiss between rival warriors Triana (Carpenter, left) and Cara (Tabrett Bethell, right) is actually a war tactic. “It’s about domination,” says Carpenter. “She’s putting me in my place.”

What say you, Buffy fans? Will you be tuning in?

Early life
Carpenter was born in Las Vegas, Nevada[1][3] to a Cherokee, Irish, Scottish, and Spanish mother and French and German father. Carpenter attended Bishop Gorman High School in Las Vegas. When she was 15, her family moved to Rosarito city, Mexico[3] and then to San Diego where she attended Bonita Vista High School and Chula Vista School of the Creative and Performing Arts.[3] After graduation, Carpenter traveled throughout Europe.[4] Once she returned to San Diego again, she worked as a video store clerk,[3] an aerobics instructor, and in property management. In 1991, she was a San Diego Charger cheerleader, before beginning her Hollywood career.[5] In 1992, she moved to Los Angeles.[4]

Career
Carpenter was discovered by a commercial agent while waiting tables in Los Angeles[3] to save money for her college education. This led to her role on theatrical productions and more than twenty commercials.[6] She made her first television role in 1994 by appearing in an episode of Baywatch.[6] Shortly after that, she landed a starring role on Aaron Spelling's short-lived soap opera Malibu Shores.[5]

Carpenter at the 2005 Comic-ConIn 1997, Carpenter auditioned for the title role in the television series Buffy the Vampire Slayer but instead was cast as Cordelia Chase,[7] a snobby and popular high school student. After three seasons on Buffy the Vampire Slayer, Carpenter was offered an even larger role as the same character on the spin-off series Angel along with David Boreanaz. She played Cordelia Chase for four seasons on Angel. Although her character leaves the series during Angel's fourth season, Carpenter returned for the 100th episode in the fifth and final season because she felt that Cordelia's fans deserved closure after the controversy of her unexplained removal from the show.

In 2004, Carpenter had a three episode guest appearance on the TV show Charmed as a psychic demon[8] called The Seer and played a recurring role on NBC's Miss Match, appearing in four episodes. She also had a recurring role as Kendall Casablancas in the TV series Veronica Mars[8] for the 2005-2006 season, appearing in 11 episodes. Carpenter guest-starred in the first season finale of ABC Family's television show Greek and reprised her role in two episodes of Season 2. According to TV Guide in September 2007, she was set to join the cast of The Apprentice: Celebrity Edition,[9] but instead chose to do a guest appearance on the show Back to You as well as a recurring role on the short-lived series Big Shots.[10] Carpenter also had a guest appearance in an April 2009 episode of CSI: Crime Scene Investigation.

On March 20, 2008, Paley Fest hosted a Buffy the Vampire Slayer reunion. Carpenter attended the event alongside Buffy creator Joss Whedon, producer Marti Noxon, and other Buffy alumni including Sarah Michelle Gellar, Nicholas Brendon, James Marsters, Emma Caulfield, Amber Benson, Seth Green, and Michelle Trachtenberg.[11]

Carpenter has starred in an assortment of made-for-tv and direct-to-video movies including the sex comedy What Boys Like, the horror film Voodoo Moon, and the romantic comedies See Jane Date and Relative Chaos on ABC Family (the latter of which co-starred Nicholas Brendon who was also one of her co-stars from Buffy the Vampire Slayer). She also appeared in the mysteries Flirting with Danger and Cheaters' Club on Lifetime Television and is starring in the Sci Fi Channel movie House of Bones, scheduled for broadcast in 2009. Also in 2009, Carpenter stars in production company Red Sparrow's first film, Vivid, and was added to the cast of the upcoming movie The Expendables, a Sylvester Stallone written/directed film, set for a 2010 release.[12]

Playboy
In the June 2004 issue of Playboy magazine, Carpenter appeared in a ten-page nude layout and on the cover.[7] When asked by People magazine in 2005 about her nude pictorial and whether or not she would ever pose for Playboy again, she replied "I don't know. I did Playboy for a very specific reason. Not only was it a good financial move, but it was about the place I was at in my life. I had just had my son [Donovan] and I'd gained 50 lbs. during pregnancy. I wanted to get back to my old self. I wanted to feel desirable and sexy. So I thought, 'What if I went full throttle?'"[13]

Personal life
Carpenter married Damian Hardy on October 5, 2002.[14] On March 24, 2003, Carpenter gave birth to a son named Donavan Charles Hardy.[15] In late 2007, the couple separated and their divorce was made final in July 2008.[16]

As a fitness enthusiast, her outdoor hobbies are biking, rollerblading, horseback riding, hiking, rock climbing, and sky-diving.[6] Carpenter lives in Los Angeles.[6]
